Parents Out
I was moved by tearful presentation
It appeared in news edition
Son and daughter-in- law pushed parents out
They had nothing in hand but to opt out
Whole of the life was spent on upkeep
Provide good education to keep
Child in competition
Move ahead in time to launch on
Parents always pay attention
For their children
Without taking hardship into account
For only fulfilling the time’s count
It was never thought of and message remained unread
What the child may perform in years ahead!
No parents may be thinking so
But today wind flows differently
Such behavior on parts of children is condemned
Is it our blind attachment or common struggle?
That we undertake for the welfare of child
To some of the future aspects we certainly remain blind

This poem presents a true picture changing mores of our society which is far removed from the age old tradition which made it mandatory for the younger generation to look after their elders with dignity. Thanks for the same.
