Pastor Rob Poem by Randy McClave

Pastor Rob

Today at church the women cried
While the men stood and sighed,
We all had a saddened heart
When a church leader said sadly that he would depart.
First we started the service off with a prayer
Unto God we then prayed as he is there,
Then in Church we all stood and sang out songs
Giving out our praise to God where it always belongs.
Then our pastor told us one of his jokes
At landlords today was his comical pokes,
Then he gave a sermon which touched the soul
With God again he made me feel whole.
Our pastor then gave us the saddened news
As we all sat silent on the pews,
A deserved sabbatical our pastor desperately needed
Medical and spiritual advice must always be heeded.
His final words he just couldn't preach
At that moment they were all out of his reach,
Then the men sighed, and the women did cry
When Pastor Rob said Goodbye.
