Peace Is Only Mean Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Peace Is Only Mean

Rating: 5.0

It is hunger for more territories
That adds to woe and miseries
Population adds and creates problems
National sentiments add to the troubles

How long can we suppress?
Wipe out the old links or historical traces
It is difficult to keep any one under yoke
The enmity remains always at heart and under smoke

We have seen how it turns out to be bloody
The empires have fallen even if they were called mighty
Left behind legacy of slavery
Tension, bloodshed and misery

Many sovereign states are still bleeding
They spend more on defense but care less for feeding
Population suffers and remains under nourishment
Borders are violated despite international agreement

They might have tried all possible means
I won’t say they fueled the situation to win
But it is clearly seen that humanity is at loss
What are we doing all this and at what cost?

Races can not be wiped out from earth’s face
Whether it is black, white, Turkey or Greece
Everybody resents artificial bond
Population hates each other and are not very fond

There are many more territories
New claims are registered and skirmishes are on
Army stands at border to guard
Meanwhile peace is only means to look forward

Good poem for 9/11 Diana Hoy10 hours ago Needs a little polish though, a couple of lines are confusing due to gramerical error. All in all a very good poem, and fitting for the upcomming 9/11 anniversary.
