Peace To The Poets Mind Poem by alan brown

Peace To The Poets Mind

You stood within the sight of my eyes
proud, and with understanding.
As the elevesent light around you, glowed.
beaming, with every thought written
humbly by your mind.

Distance never became a problem
until the words took solace in their own demise.
They climbed heights never reached in our time
as poets of the world rejoiced
Bringing forth the memories of this sodden land,
giving hope, but not prosperity in the eyes of man.

Gladly I overcome the willingness
to taunt the blind
As words spilled out before my seeing eyes,
understanding, but never resolving the meaning
of the written word.
Hope drew me closer
but my mind was lost to all.

The tightness held deep within me eased
as I lost my mind to the universe
Grafting deep withing me
but giving all to the poets, of distant lands.
Hope was upon us
As words took all that lay before them
and spread their seed.

Learning scattered the brave
but the simple minds resolved the love
we knew
Daunting but forever withing our grasp
we survived the onslaught
Bringing hope to the hopeful
and peace to the poets mind
