Peach/Sunshine Poem by Melanie Weeks

Peach/Sunshine

I see you in my dreams,
I'm lost trying to prove
That I'm innocent.

I didn't steal your ring.
You were my best friend.
You stupid boy,
I loved you.

I told you from the start,
I'd use your caring,
Your loving heart.
You told me it was ok.
You said alright.
You'd never put up a fight.

I picked you up,
So many times.
You never knew
How much I needed you.

I didn't steal your ring,
You were my best friend.
You just don't understand,
You meant too much to me,
I'd rather that I die,
Before I'd steal from you.

I called you peach,
And my own personal sunshine.
I never told you,
You kept me from depression.
The reason I'm still alive,
Because of you.

You were the best friend
That I'd ever had
