Pebbles And Diamonds Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Pebbles And Diamonds

Rating: 5.0

What determines individual value?
When comparing …what are the clues?
What uniqueness carries the most weight?
Why? This is the question up for debate

Let’s compare a pebble to a diamond
A pebble may be smooth and round
A diamond in the rough, is a clear stone
Yet… it has a luster desired by thrones

Pebbles are plentiful on the surface of shores
Diamonds are rare; found when you dig and explore
Rounded pebbles turn to sand over a period of time
Faceted diamonds have endurance… this is prime

Let’s decide what characteristics determine worth
Both have components of the dirt from the earth
One is more common an generates no temptation
The other is a commodity and prone to inflation

It is crystal clear to me that longevity is an entity…
The capacity to create a sparkle is linked to identity
When all the qualities are considered upon reflection
Rigid rarity and dazzle are the qualities of perfection

But pebbles come in all shapes, sizes and colours just like us And we find them as we just walk upon the shore And diamonds are kept locked in safes until displayed in stores. Enjoyed this Poem Theresa, many thanks, David
