Perfect Poem by Timothy Lee Hollandsworth Jr.

Perfect

Rating: 4.5

What does it mean to be perfect?
To erase your past for the future?
To be better than the best?
To always be honest with your suitor?

What does it mean to be perfect?
Does it mean to forget who you are?
To lose yourself in what someone else expects?
Does it mean you can't recognize your face anymore?

What does it mean to be perfect?
Should you go to extremes?
Do you try to make more from less?
Or do you fall apart at the seams?

What does it mean to be perfect?
Should you never cry?
Should you never rest?
Should you never die?
Should you never lie?
How does one hide the truth behind their eye?

I'm not perfect, neither are you
But in the end we will make it through
