Perplexing Stuff Poem by Ima Ryma

Perplexing Stuff

A perplexing phenomenon,
Belly button lint - why does it
Show up as I age on and on?
I have lots, others not a bit.
One theory is that tummy hair
On some folks acts like barbed hooks that
Pull clothing fibers that we wear
Into the naval habitat.
And this 'lint' does accumulate
Until its host, someone like me
Does notice and does contemplate
Removing this perplexity.

An ice breaker I did invent,
'Do you have belly button lint? '
