Personal Our Shadows Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Personal Our Shadows

Personal our shadows.
So personal there is nowhere,
From them to run.
Extremely personal our shadows.
So very personal there is nowhere,
From them to run.

What is done in shadows past.
To think it gone and not to last.
Remains to come,
Exposed in the brightest light of Sun.

Personal our shadows.
So very personal there is nowhere,
From them to run.

No peace of mind to find.
For misdeeds done others.
Or any rest.
Claimed and found to get.

Personal our shadows.
So very personal there is nowhere,
From them to run.

The past and misdeeds done to others,
Chase.
To keep awake,
As if a nightmare on a mission.
Unable from it to escape.
Even if forgiven,
The mind can not erase...
How personal our shadows.
The mind can not erase.

Personal our shadows.
And those misdeeds we do to others,
To remind what we do.
Extremely personal our shadows.
To never leave us peacefully to sleep,
To seek if we choose.

What is done in shadows past.
To think it gone and not to last.
Remains to come,
Exposed in the brightest light of Sun.

Personal our shadows.
What is done to do there is no place to run.
What is done to do there is no place to run.
Personal our shadows!
