You are called by pet name
This is liked by all for all the time to come
I was no exception
This is beautiful aspect and sweet portion
Even today I call children by pet names
Their original namedoesn't come in mind
The tongue doesn't twist any more
Some times, I feel sore at my attitude
I was affectionately calling all
By the same way as I used to call my children
My sister-in-laws children told me
"Uncle call us by same pet name" we love it
In my childhood. Mother used to call me as "Haso or haslo"
Then all people in village called me by same name
When I got used to it, it always filled me with joy
There was no more annoyance but I fully enjoyed
The broken name gives us the feeling of closeness
The expression is brought on the face
I have experienced an attachment
The word echoes in mind even at present
Note: - My name is Hasmukh
A light-hearted and very endearing poem Hasmukhji! It resonates with eah one of us. Yes, it takes a while to realise, accept and love to hear it. Surya Sir's kaju and kismis had me rolling with laughter, especially both being today's ingredients of the day in all 'pradsdams'. Thankyou! Gomathi Mohan, Dehradun, Jan 14,2018
A fine poem Hasmukh sir. Pet names are an outpouring of love. Annapurna Sharma, Nellore, Jan 14,2018
Hasmukh also means jovial or blooming face. One can become Hasmukh only when there is contentment as you are. Pet names or informal names create intimacy. There is articiciality in the official name. KH Prabhu, Kumta, Karnataka - 581343, Jan 14,2018

I would like to translate this poem
Pet names are informal and you use them with those very close to you. With such close people actual names sound too formal and lacks intimacy. Sometimes petnames are derived out of actual names like in your case - haso or haslo. Some ofthe most endearing and musical petnames I have heard are in Bengali. Sister of my Bengali friend in my younger days was called tuntuni. The most unusual petname I have heard are of two sisters - kismis and kaaju. GSP Rao, Hyderabad, Jan 14,2018
