Phoînix Poem by G J Salgado

Phoînix

She was wonderful and beautiful
They all loved her but secretly hated her
But they didn't know why
For all the things she was or could've been
She was adored but lonely
She was ignored but lovely
Thriving on their hate and loving that they hated her so such
She loved them all so deeply
Only wanting them to know and to love her for everything she was
Of all the things in the world to be there was no breed quite like this one
She was true to what she was even though she was alone in such a cruel lonesome place
She faced it all as life looked inside her golden eyes
That's when she became whole and invincible
She decided in order to conquer it all
She would have to loose everything that she never was given the chance to have
She walked and lived alone but she was free
That freedom was who she was
If she lived alone she would die alone
And if she fell alone she would rise alone
As the rest burned and died behind her
So she raised her wings and flew
Rising from her own ashes
