Phoenix, Arizona Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Phoenix, Arizona

Sitting in the midst of bikers at a bar-b-que, enjoying
their company immensely.

All around, nature is nurturing us in an Arizona sunshine,
mountains watching closely.

Seeing the beauty of this morning spreading across the
land, our desert standing it's ground.

Arid and sunny, taking us into depths of everything that
is wonderful here in Phoenix, Arizona.

I love Phoenix! Arizona in general, it was love at first touch when I stepped out of the air-conditioned air of the terminal into the hot, dry, enveloping air of a Arizona night. I spent the next eight days all day in that air, breathing it in and out, cleansing me, making me whole. So I read your poem as if I were there again. And your poem conveys all of that wonder of life, real life, of the landscape. The temperature here is mild, about 20 above, but the ground is slippery and the cold air builds up inside you - winter limits walking outdoors! But through your poem I walked the Arizona line!

Yours reminisces of a brief experience of mine through Phoenix, Arizona., in 2012. Thanks for sharing.
