Pillow Of The Night Poem by Valerie Dohren

Pillow Of The Night

Rating: 5.0

Beauty lay her head upon
The pillow of the night
Hoping it would yet sustain
The early morning light

But time passed by, and darkness came
To steal away her grace
Beauty was no more her name
No more upon her face

Believing she would never die
In shadows there she lay
Waiting for the truth, revealed
Upon the break of day

Then as the sun shone down upon
Her aspect, now so plain
She knew that time would never fix
Such Beauty there again

Transient nature of beauty that the poem describes nicely
