Pink Flowers Poem by Elena Plotkin

Pink Flowers

'Don't pluck the daisies or they'll never turn pink.'
Shouted out the gardener, who frankly loves to drink.
nevertheless, there I was scared to pluck the flower,
wondering how long before it gets its pink power.
Would it take a day, a week, a month, or a year?
How long does it take for the pink to appear?
How long did it take the rose, tulip, and carnation?
Was it the same amount of time in every nation?
What if these daisies could only turn pink?
It was almost too wonderful to even think.

Love the fun flowing style of this poem. You certainly had me thinking pink.

some years ago, my relatively-new-to-me mate said i was not white, but pink. she is dark Asian. NOW she just calls me her 'dog'. at least she rarely calls me 'late' to supper! Googling pink daisy flower i found this: The Painted daisy comes in a variety of bright colors including, white, red, purple, and pink and which are all part of the Chrysanthemum genus. BUT i got much different results by Googling just pink daisy. nice rhyming. i understood it except that at first i thought there was no such thing as a pink daisy. i thought the 'gardener' who 'loves to drink' made up the concept. maybe it is JUST pink elephants which inebriated souls see. were you 27 when this happened? :) :) bri ;)
