Pit Of Fools Poem by Airda Jones

Pit Of Fools

There's a great big
Black pit that's full
Of the world's greatest
Most unfeeling fools

Inside live flames
That lick you like tongues
And burn so that every
Breath is smoke in your lungs

And their smiles have
The ability to kill hope
It ends itself inside
By hanging from dictator's rope

Beaten and bruised
With knees shattered not to walk
And every abuse is made
To be of your own fault

Endless pit of doom
It is such a crowded place
For all of earth's beings
Are together here, face to face
