Played Out Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Played Out

Played out!
The age of it staged.
Overtly nostalgic.
The acting too dramatic.
Even the use of a diverse cast,
Can not keep awake...
Those told to anticipate,
Scenic views.
Updated with a fresh coat of paint.

The rusting.
Is in need of a complete removal of dust.
Surrounding repeated revisited times.
Many hope a renovation,
Attracts those making steps into the future.
And not looking back at the past.
Wishing to relive or applaud its return.
Giving what is presented to have played out,
A thunderous standing ovation!
