Playing In A Mud Puddle Poem by Juan Olivarez

Playing In A Mud Puddle

Rating: 0.5

Playing in a mud puddle,
Naked to the world,
Filling up a bottle,
Browner than a squirrel.

Running in the rain,
Glad to be a child,
not a hint of pain,
running free and wild.

Jumping in the brown pool,
Splashing all around,
Crawling like a crazy fool,
On the wet and soggy ground.

Like a naked savage,
Mud plastered on my face,
Water colored memories,
Of another time and place.

6/2/10 29 palms ca.
