Please God Poem by Barry Middleton

Please God

Rating: 5.0

Please God, can you just put me through?
I'd like to talk to Mom.

I know she's up there somewhere near.
She helps to keep me calm.

And I don't know what she might say,
but if I can connect,

then I will go along my way,
but make this call collect.

I know she would not mind a bit,
she always took my calls.

She listened to my tales of woe
each time I took my falls.

I'm in a lot of trouble now,
don't want to bother You.

But if you just hand her the phone,
she'll tell me what to do.

Please God, can you just put me through?
I'd like to talk to Mom.

I know she's up there somewhere near,
she helps to keep me calm.

A beautiful poem in the memory of a mother. The loss of a mother is poignantly captured.

This is incredible. Seeking mom's guidance from the other world through God's intervention: She listened to my tales of woe she'll tell me what to do.

A different take on a Mother's Day poem. I like it! Would love to talk to my mother the same way.
