Wake me up
When dawn descends down on the dales
The crow shakes its wings in its nest
The wells reverberates with sounds of pails
Wake me up
When crimson rays dance atop the hill
The resplendent dews begin to melt on the grass
And reaching the wet land the farmers start to till
Wake me up
When sitting by the fire women blow the billows
Thin tendrils of smoke rise towards the sky
And sweet lasses gather bedspread and pillows
Wake me up
When the priests pour water on the temple stairs
The sounds of conch and cymbal fill the air
The deity’s face glazes from crimson flares
Wake me up
When the cool breeze blows from the east
Sitting upon a stone the cowherd plays the flute
A ripple runs to me through the veil of mist
Wake me up
For I need to move out of my home
To enjoy what nature displays all around
May be tomorrow for me would never come
