Poetic composition
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
I felt like a snow maiden emerge
From the enchanted land of Canada
But I probably looked bedraggled
After having battled the elements
That make up wintry conditions;

"Blossoms of snow" all around
On the snowy landscape
With the look of ethereal beauty
And treacherous conditions;

I picked up a miniature cabinet
To keep my treasured prisms
So the sunbeams can make shimmering colours of light
As can the light from the lamps;

I had thought of this art display for the AGO
But I owe a Thank You to my neighbouring friend, Cathy,
Who made me make The Prismatic Effect
In the living room and both this and the work room
Which also underwent a make-over
With artificial flowers that simply brighten up our corner pieces,
Are simply the delightful add-ons;

As I sit and type this poem with the morning sunlight
Brightening my flow of thought
With its golden rays
Enveloping me with the hope
That I shall hold the torch of eternal victory
For the discriminated in the N. American continent
As in the sub-continent of India
For the black man and woman with their
Fight for justice and equality have shone hope to
Billions of people in this world
And in this March to a new world
Where there is no inequitable sentiments,
I shall etch my name in technicolour
As The Prismatic Effect.
