Polite Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Polite

Polite

Used to teach immigrants
-integrate; be one of…

Told them how to live life
-in the West, Canada

Said Russian:
-I hate it…

Started bitterly
-but I loved honesty.

It wooed me, I questioned:
-what and why?

-they tell lies right in face…

Torch in cave his reply:
-are polite…extreme…hide the fact
-want to charm…

I extend his borders:
-to cultures and people
-are we all big liars?
-kind and nice?
-is he right?
-what about honesty?
-let me beg
-and insist:
-do tell me
-let me know
-everyone
-large, small
-tell the fact
-and truth
-let's drop daily lies
-just to be
-good…polite!
-show the path as it is
-do not sell fog, dreams
-to sinking lies can lead…
