Polluted To Delude Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Polluted To Delude

Difficult these times will be,
To quickly remove fiction and fantasy.
From the minds of those,
Polluted to delude...
Truth to excuse, ignore and refuse to hear.
Done to do to not take seriously,
Their fates being threatened.
By a devastating pandemic.
Believing it a gimmick.
Promoted by politicians seeking votes.
This to invoke,
Delivers sadness not jokes.

God bless the ones,
Hoping their attempts gets the attention...
Their indifference spent,
Giving consent to this ignorance...
Now wished never done to overcome it.

However...
These days the emphasis placed,
To suddenly erase...
The difficult challenge it will be.
Removing fiction and fantasy.
From minds confined with time invested.
Polluting to delude reality.
And truth to suspect to be an infestation!
Something fewer give less time,
To investigate with intention and curiosity.

"What is the thing about truth?
I don't get."

-Me either.
What's the point?
You still got that 'joint'? -

"Yeah!
I'm in tired of you smoking up,
All my weed."

-You told me you got it free.
So what difference does it make? -
