WHAT COMES AFTER?
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE CLOSING OF MY EYES?
HAPPENS in that sleep which all must know
AT the beginning’s end, when fast and slow, -
THE tide’s untidy eddies - snuff last sighs?
CLOSING scenes once played out, what surprise
OF dreamt redemption or of worm will show?
MY spirit could it reincarnate grow,
EYES see again, in time which Time defies?
SLEEP ALL FEARS TERMINATES! EXTERNALS RISE!
ALL trammels left behind, while on Time’s flow
FEARS fade and struggles cease. What light might glow?
TERMINATE all hope, or found replies,
EXTERNALS shed, where spirit is reborn?
RISE up if You exist! ... Is faith foresworn?
