Poor People Poem by Francis Duggan

Poor People

Rating: 5.0

So many poor people who are struggling to cope
Who look to the future without any hope
Of better times for them in the days ahead
There is not much for to live for when hope in you is dead
Life is so tough on the financially down
They are the fringe dwellers of every city and town
The people at the wrong side of the social divide
Even at a young age contemplating suicide
That the poor are getting poorer is not anything new
The majority of the wealth of the World is owned by the very wealthy few
The social gap keeps on widening by the day
And this seems a very sad thing for to say
The stateless the hungry and homeless in life doing it tough
By the day getting poorer and living and sleeping rough.

Great poem depicting a very sad reality. " The social gap keeps on widening by the day, And this seems a very sad thing for to say" . The poor are pulled faster into the whirlpool of financial demise and the riches busy in their virtual world, more insensitive to those suffering around them. A sad world we are living in.
