Positive Affairs Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Positive Affairs

Rating: 5.0

Sought more when one ages,
Are positive affairs.
To appreciate and seek.
With them kept to be aware,
Of peaceful nights.
And undisturbed sleep.

And this seems to come with age.
When one begins,
To recognize it realized.
Remaining positive,
Is a blessing one receives.
Knowing one can choose to do,
What one pleases.
With a leaving behind negativity.
To those much younger.
Who seem to hunger for conflict.
As if to be a part of it,
Adds benefits when others accept...
Petty arguments and expressing disrespect,
Will never come to affect...
Their mental health.
As they grow older,
Needing to be medicated on a daily basis.
And one who ages,
Blessed to have escaped from nonsense.
Begins to realize with opened eyes,
Stupid is what stupidity does.
And to stop being stupid,
Is the best gift one who ages gets.

"Hey.
Wassup?
You ain't as stupid as you use to be.
What happened? "

Life!
And the pursuit of less ignorance.
