Powerless To Stop The Inevitable - Poem by Jana Courville

This burning remorse I have
For all of my sins
Tearing me apart limb from limb
I cannot fathom my pain for you
Cannot fathom it really be true
But what of this painful crime
Do I have to pay in debt
My omission has torn open a new abysmal
In whence it shall protrude and live in
For the rest of its existence
Because after the debt is paid
There is only home
