Praising Instability Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Praising Instability

Praising instability,
Today has risen to heights of adulation.
Imitated by the youth.
Nurtured to perform,
More outrageous behaviour...
Immulated to stimulate,
Their peers to openly approve of and do.

While those aging pray for some sense to be made.
From their senseless acts to have enacted.
Now with a craze these days,
Bordering near the stage of certifiable insanity.

Debated is the cause and reason.
And how this could occur,
When the best of scholars and scientists...
Seek results from tested mice and rabbits.
As humanity and the quality of life to live it,
Is less of a concern.
Than displaying to intellectualize,
An expertise one has...
In beating around the bush.
Than curing an epidemic...
That promises to kill the bush.
And all surrounding it.
With an established ritual.
More impressive than effective.
Mentally addictive.
And...
Too habitual to ignore,
A devastation in progress.
Promoting a disaster.
Incapable to fathom or digest,
Their assistance in its implementation.

Or...
Maybe they do.
But can not see themselves,
As victims.
Self inflicting their own demise.
