Pray And Let Go Poem by Carolyn Brunelle

Pray And Let Go

It is a pain that has left me numbed
and unable to feel or speak; but deep inside
my heart and soul weep in despair, and need
comfort from someone who's been where I am.
How do I even form the words
beyond this heavy cloud that hovers;
and smothers all light and joy from me?
Unhinged, trapped in this silence,
I can only stare into the abyss;
how do I look away before it kills me?
Oh God, unwrap these frozen fingers
that cling to the edge of hope;
there is nothing left for them to do
except pray, and leave these things to you.
