Prayer3 Poem by Gert Strydom

Prayer3

My Lord, where your stars hang as eternal signs over me
only to You I pray humbly in my great longing:
I do not ask for a great life that You are able to give with a word,
I ask that you do protect my darling on her ways,
where my future and our love hangs in the balance,
and I do have no ability to reach her as I want to.
I ask that you do sort out her heart and life for me,
I ask that which is unworthy and sinful You have to replace;
only to You I pray humbly in my great longing.
