Preciously Protected Denials Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Preciously Protected Denials

If it has not yet,
Been made apparent...
How devastating it is,
Disputing to refuse...
Truth and the proof of it presented.
Can cause overwhelmingly,
Grief to leave a permanent effect...
Upon one's mentality.
And headaches unable to numb.
Regardless of what is done.
When choosing ignorance.
And the effectiveness of this,
Kept to allow and follow.
As regret accompanied by misery,
Can not stop the agony...
One inflicts by hitting,
Both head and fists against a brick wall.

If...
It has not yet been made apparent,
Stupidity exists...
Sitting to visit in many homes to permit.

Stay tuned!
Soon the reality,
Will come to knock on those doors.
Believing themselves immuned,
From crying tears to flood floors.
Only eventually to awaken,
From preciously protected denials.
Screaming to place blame on others,
When the choice to make themselves fools...
Had been clearly their choice to choose.
