Pride Bums A Ride And Gets Out Of Here Quickly

Rating: 5.0

The day will eat your pride
Savoring each bite as knife and fork slice off another piece
And when pride got spooked and took off, this was the one the hunter caught

That's a hasty exit from a decaying scene
A scene collapsing on your self-esteem
The specter vanishes without even a poof

Wait until they say "no" with vastly improved diction
Lessons paid off, the driver is waiting outside
Pride runs for the backseat
Doesn't even open the door, dives in through an open window
