Promises Of Poetry

I thought I could look into a soul through the eyes
and know it
I had faith
that,
if I looked into the eyes on a face
I could tell through the open window to a life
That,
here was a child of the universe
never mind, it might have gone through a mediocre university
I thought I could
And I promised myself I would

The surprise came
my expectations in flames

When I looked into that orb
the eye
expecting to see a soul
I saw stalagmites and stalactites and a frozen spirit
A cold human thing behaving as a human being
whose desire for money equals the universe
and I tried to recite a unique verse from the holy book
to quell the spook

If I could I would have found it
I found nothing
Not one.
Nothing amounting to something

How can one write a poem
Read a poem
Publish a poem
And promise poems
And then go cold
Verily, it's very very odd

p2all the money in the universe cannot buy back even one human soul; strangely the reverse is true of Jesus who came proclaims his own blood sacrifice on the cross,

I wrote the split images 'Buying Back A Single Human Soul', 'Absolute Excessive Greed Measured', 'All The Money In The Universe' and 'Ancient Claims Of Divinity: Spot The Differences', inspired by the poem 'Promises Of Poetry', by the poet Deluke Muwanigwa and dedicated to Deluke Muwanigwa.

p1'a human being whose desire for money equals the universe' this is the state of a human soul, when billions, a trillion dollars more is never enough; yet even this much money cannot buy back a good heart sacrificed,
