Proof Of My Life Poem by lisa hart

Proof Of My Life

There is proof of my life everywhere:
initials carved into tree's bark
songs i always sing along to on the radio
the tatterd books lying under my bed
the top i leant you and never got back

the half finished essay i never handed in
the streaks i helped dye in your hair
the flowers i painted on my bedroom door

And the rest:
here are the photos that prove my popularity,
where i pose in groups and smile sweetly at the camera

here is the calender recording my busy life
the facebook page
the myspace account

Or you could look closer

and ask how i got those scars on my upper arm
that i usually keep hidden

They are the real proof
and they are my real life
