Proudly, For You And Others, Poem by Randy McClave

Proudly, For You And Others,

Today, I saved some lives
I know that I have helped many indeed,
Because of me and people like me many survives
We all proudly gave and there was no greed.
Today I went out to help my fellow man
And of course my fellow woman also.
To help them all towards help I proudly ran
On top of the highest perch I now wanna crow.
I don't care of the color of anyone's skin
Or of their religious belief or their gender,
I will do my best to help them win
And never will I allow them to surrender.
I don't wear any type of badge or a shield
And I don't go to work in a fire truck,
Patients in wheelchairs I do not ever wield
And never do I rely on luck.
I know that I have saved many life's
And I will save many more throughout the years,
I have saved parents and husbands and wife's
And I have happily erased many heartbroken tears.
I will probably never meet any of the cured
Or the ones that once stood without hope,
Now their living is reassured
As I also gave them strength and faith to cope.
Maybe I will save a grandparent
Or maybe a stranger from a far off different land,
My help to them will be joyous and apparent
When because me, again they will love and stand.
I rolled my sleeves up preparing to fight
Then a prayer to God I solemnly did say,
There was no worries and there was no fright
Proudly, for you and others. I donated blood today.
