Pulling At My Heart Strings Poem by Dakota Ellerton

Pulling At My Heart Strings

Clashing hearts
connectiong minds
I've fallen for you
In so little time

What's a year
or even two
the eight months we've spent together
makes it worth waiting for you

staying up all night talking
crying then making love
you've motivated me
you've given me a shove

countless night I've stayed awake
wondering what to do
the conclusion- I'll stay by your side
try to help you through

If you're going to hurt me anymore
maybe we should say good-bye
before we get in too deep
before all you make me do is cry

I've become vulnerable
foolishly let you in
you made my world a beautiful bi-polar
it made my world spin

you're the stars in my sky
and the sun in my day
painfully, I love you
wouldn't want it another way

sometimes you say the sweetest things
sometimes I'd rather you lie
sometimes it seems you don't care
and I'm the only one willing to try

what do you want?
think hard and long
I won't wait forever
before you know it I'm gone

whipe that smile off your face
after I've said goodbye
my dearest, don't forget
It's always okay to cry
