There sleeps a hero
whose life was so dear to him,
to his wife and his children
to his parents and his siblings.
There sleeps a hero
who was a soldier
and he has laid down his life
for his country and his duty.
There sleeps a hero
who was adorned with a national flag
and given a 21 Guns Salute
as he was laid to rest.
There sleeps a hero
whose name will be written
in the books of martyrs
and will be honored with a posthumous award.
There sleeps a hero
who will long be forgotten
but the days of pain and tears shall last forever
in the eyes of his old mother and children.
There sleeps a hero
who had put his own safety at risk
when he had chosen to defend his country
but he lost his young life to unexpected terror.
There sleeps a soldier
to whom we owe a heartful of gratitude
as our country will never be able to replace
to his mother the son that she has lost.
There was a soldier
who would have fought every war like a hero
but he died for our country all so suddenly,
how can we ever repay him for his sacrifice?
There sleeps a soldier
whom I never knew neither he knew me
whom I never saw, never met
but for me and my country he died like a hero, indeed!
