Cat black as night
Bright green eyes
Queen of the household
Much loved.
In fourteenth year
Run over by a car
Crossing bypass
Going to rabbit warren.
Missing her
Posters put up
Doors knocked on
Panicked, searching for her.
Found at kerbside
Brought home, buried in garden
Twenty-five years later
Still roaming purring in my heart
