Queen Elizebeth 1 (Portrait In A Glen) Poem by james watkin

Queen Elizebeth 1 (Portrait In A Glen)

There, stood back from, afar in time
Shapes for death, an elegant pose
Half moon's, archer's of old.
Viewed, through this modern, softer lens
Pompous, as vulgar! Which image
Heaven shames, queenly cold.
