Shiny green,
Dark.
Topped with the new rust red growth,
Stairstepped with large open white blossoms,
The flower of the South,
The Magnolia,
Stately pronouncing itself,
Despite the heat of the day,
Elegant.
Pristine.
Untouched by time,
Queen of the South.
