Quiver Of Hope Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Quiver Of Hope

Sitting alone, thinking of you so many miles away, heart
soaked with sadness because we are not together, day after
day feeling listless, lonesome and lost.

Wondering what you are doing and if you're feeling a void
in your heart also without me, mirrors reflecting yester-
days when we were together.

Sharing our secrets and love, hidden from everyone else's
view, as we met in our special places that we never told
anyone about.

Coming back to them without you makes this heart of mine
pedal backwards through rhythms of the loss we both have
felt through the years.

Wanting to be with you always, but afraid that it will
never be again, for we've built a bridge over troubled
waters of our life together.

Thinking there's no way to go back in time to recapture
our once upon a life, filled with joy and happiness,
petals of rose-colored memories tasting what we had.

Now brown with age, holding no promises for our future
being united, so here I sit alone, missing you, think-
ing of your heart and mine separated by so many miles.

An interiorly quiet desperation giving no respite at all
as tears of my heart create a waterfall reflecting life
without you from now on, yet a little quiver of hope
still burns within me for you, my love.
