R A I N Poem by Kishore Kumar Das

R A I N

Sky getting darker
clouds rushing from the horizon
colours transforming from
white to brown
brown to grey
and grey to black
in the twinkling of an eye
green trees appearing greener
the flora and fauna
staring to watch
the miracle in the sky
everybody spellbound!
lightning strikes! !
loud thunder replicating the Almighty's anger
directed against the misdeeds
demolishing pride
preaching the doctrine
' You are just a bubble
totally insignificant '
the wild wind sets the rhythm
full of dynamism
slowly and naturally
His anger melts in to kindness
drizzling starts:
tiny droplets transform to raindrops
the nectar cools the earth
everybody dancing with joy
Rain......the gift of Almighty
to the countless living beings.
