Racism In His Eyes Poem by Randy McClave

Racism In His Eyes

I saw racism in his eyes
As he wore an 8 year old disguise,
Screaming out death and hate
At a continuous heart rate.
He uttered things he knew nothing about
As I heard him scream and shout,
Racism, Bigotry came from his mouth
As though he was from the deep, Deep South.
I was angered and I was shocked
As others he also mocked,
Others felt the same way that I did
Our disbelief and sadness could not be hid.
He never mocked those who wore masks
And he mocked the needy who always asks,
Then his hatred was promoted
He then mocked how I and others had voted.
Then as I heard his rants go wild
I looked over at his grandma as she smiled,
Being smart and not dumb
I then knew exactly where is racism came from.
