Rain - Poem by Dennis Walker

I love the sound of the rain
The pitter patter upon my windowpane
The splashing in the city street
The sound of the puddles under my feet

It makes me feel like a child again
Getting soaked is never a pain
Making me smile as I walk around
Seeing it splashing on the ground

The air so fresh and now so cool
No one is looking I splash like a fool
The rain to me is so much fun
I always walk and never run

People rush past their faces set
Looking in anger at getting so wet
But me I love the sound of the rain
Wow here it comes down again
