Rain Poem by Thomas Vaughan Jones

Rain

Rating: 4.2

Lying in bed, so snug and warm
we listen to the awesome storm.
The lightning flash, the thunder’s roll
bring trembling to the bravest soul.

Under these sounds, a gentler strain.
The pitter-patter of the rain,
singing its plaintive melody
in hydrophobic harmony

The quiet insistence of each shower
does not proclaim this mighty power.
For every drop the Heavens weep
can bring the river fast and deep.

While flash and thunder have their say,
the rain can wash the world away
