Rain Poem by ANJANDEV ROY

Rain

It has been raining since morning,
The rain is heavier now,
As I look farther and farther,
It's rain and rain,
The trees, the houses and all are hazy and obscure in the farthest land;
Only the rain sings,
All other things remain standstill.
I love to enjoy the beauty of this heavy downpour,
The fragrance of rain-soaked cool air soothes my clumsy mind
And I just watch the torrential rain in an ecstasy.
Long time has elapsed,
It seems unstoppable,
Everybody is confined,
Only the rain wins,
My heart is fully drenched with the blessing of heavy rain,
The pain and anguish is over
And I love to sing in this auspicious time,
"Go on dear rain!
It's your day,
Take away all the filthy clay from the earth
With your gutsy and torrential rhythm."
