Rambling Thoughts Poem by Billy Loving

Rambling Thoughts

As I sit in my chair
Wondering why I'm still here
Days just pass
Like the growing of the blades of grass
I become immersed
In my next verse
I think to myself
What would it be like to be somewhere else
I wonder what my life would be
If all this hadn't been forced upon me
Would I be married, dead, or alive?
What kind of car I'd drive?
I still run this race
Wondering where I'll place
I look for the end
Is it just around the bend?
Or is it miles away
Only time will say
Until then I wait
And pray for the day they open the gate
Hope for tomorrow, live for today
Until I can find a better way
They will never break me
Even though they forsake me
I will cross that line
In spite of remaining blind
I will never cease to fight
As I finish this poem, I write
