Rare Breed Poem by Amitava Sur

Rare Breed

Rating: 4.8

In the modern world of today
The people whom we come across,
Many a beast are camouflaged in them
Barring a few to be true human being.
So long you're pressed with your hunger within,
You are so benign and cool.
But the moment that hunger is fulfilled
You snarl at like a wolf.

If look minutely at them opening your inner eyes
You see many a "JEKYLL" being so docile.
But right at an opportune moment
They'll jump upon as"HYDE" the senile, with long teeth and nail.

True human on this earth
With humility and love as on date
Is reduced to arare breed
Being the irony fate!

Wonderfully stark truths are spoken within this poem, Amitava. There is no way to tell by looking at someone who they are or if they can be trusted. People hide behind fake smiles and pretend faces, turning on you when you least expect it.

So true, we learn to hide so much, it is so hard to find people we trust as we all play in the game of life and truth is hidden. Great write!

Very good write with no holds barred. Tells it like it is and to the point. There is a rare breed of human that is so true. Humans are full of disguises and wear masks. It is hard to tell who is who. You only know when it hits you by surprise. Good write.
