Rather Lucky Poem by Francis Duggan

Rather Lucky

I have been rather lucky in truth i can say
In the beautiful people i meet every day
People to help those doing it tough who go out of their way
Out of kindness without expecting any pay
One can say of their sort they are a rare breed
And of more like them the Human World is in need
Compassion and respect to others they show
The people who do have the bright inner glow
Though willing to help the financially down
Not looked up to as heroines or heroes of the town
For the welfare of others they genuinely does care
And the abundance of love in them they are willing to share
I feel rather privileged in truth i can say
Since a few of their sort i do meet every day.
