Reading Ahead

Rating: 5.0

The prescience that comes your way
from reading ahead in a book
does and doesn't satisfy:
so-and-so pays for his lie;
you're sorry nevertheless,
how gruesomely he dies;
knowing gruesome ahead of time
makes the less his lies.
