It is friendship day
celebrate and end in such a way
that your inner friend stays
shows love and pays the respect

makes friends
with jealousy, hatred
show them how it affects
when people react

make genuine friendship
and show companionship
to keep the human values
with more weightage due

outer show of attachment and frankness
always lands you in duress
it pays with selfishness
deserts you in a critical phase

make friendship with the self first
test your ability and trust
show same gesture in friendship
love more and keep the bond intact

real friends are those
who choose
to be the one and same
for the friendship to claim
